Programme highlights include:
  • A pōwhiri and haka to open the celebration
  • Traditional and contemporary performances from Indian and other cultural groups (including guest artists from Auckland)
  • Rangoli art displays, dance workshops, and children’s colouring competitions
  • Delicious food stalls featuring Indian and multicultural cuisine
  • Light displays and Indian-themed décor to bring the spirit of Diwali to life
This will be one of the largest events ever hosted in Ōtorohanga, with the local MP invited as Chief Guest. The festival is proudly supported by the Ōtorohanga District Council, Ōtorohanga Charitable Trust, and the Lions Club.
